A packed crowd at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday were treated to a mastercla s in skill and talent as Team Matthews defeated Team McDavid in the final of the 2024 NHL All-Star Game. Auston Matthews & Co. did not disappoint in front of a number of hometown Maple Leafs fans. The squad also included guest captain Justin Bieber and several other Toronto players in Mitch Marner, Morgan Rielly and William Nylander, making it the de facto home team at the event. The crew, coached by Bruins bench bo s Jim Montgomery, defeated Team Hughes in the semifinals, securing a 6-5 win in a shootout thanks to Alex DeBrincat, who had the lone tally in the extra action. That set up a date against Connor McDavid and his squad, who defeated Team MacKinnon, 4-3, in a shootout in its matchup. The final did not disappoint. The two sides exchanged three goals in the first half before Team Matthews pulled away in the second, lighting the lamp four times to send the Toronto faithful home happy with a 7-4 win.
